This Tuesday, in Lisbon, took place the first inspection visit for the organization of the European Universites Championship Rugby 7s, competition that will take place from 28 to 31 August, in the Portuguese capital.

During the visit proposals have been made for sports venues, accommodation and canteens in University Stadium of Lisbon and in the Higher Institute of Agronomy. The European University Sports Association (EUSA) was represented by its sports director, Mr. Miha Zvan, and technical delegate, Ms. Mària Gyolcsos. The visit was led by the secretary-general of the competition, Mr. João Machado, and by more elements of the organizing committee: the Portuguese Academic Federation of University Sport (FADU), the Sports Association of Higher Education of Lisbon (ADESL) and the Nova University of Lisbon (NOVA).

The competition, which was initially scheduled to take place in September, it was so far, twelve teams confirmed, seven male and five female. The registration is open until March 15. The organizing committee expects to receive two and a half hundred participants, and the event will also have the support of the Portuguese Rugby Federation, the Lisbon City Council and the Government of Portugal.
